TRG Continues Downtown Greenville Presence
Building off the success of its Viola community, The Randolph Group announced
plans for Pendleton West, a significant multi-use development close to downtown
Greenville. The three sites to be acquired are each within walking distance of
the West End. The sites were the former location of the Relax Inn and the Greenville
General Hospital. In announcing the development, Jeff Randolph noted, "We believe
this will transform the area." TRG will develop 14 single family homes, 2 duplexes,
and a mix of 57 townhomes and condominiums on the Hospital site.
Affordability and variety of product type will be stressed. The residences,
consisting of 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, will range in price from $90,000 to $140,000.
Community park space will be a focal point complimented by outdoor living space
attached to each residence through the creation of courtyards, patios, and porches.
All residences will be designed exclusively for the development by Johnston Design
Group.
A 33,065 square foot three story office and residential building will be constructed
on the former Relax Inn site. The Randolph Group will move its offices to the
building. Sixteen (16) residential units will be available in the building, each
with an enclosed garage space. Views looking north towards Main Street or into
an interior courtyard will be available.
The announcement was welcomed by officials at the City of Greenville. According
to City Council member Diane Smock, the residences of Pendleton West will be more
affordable to young families, entry-level professionals and retirees. Council
member Michelle Shain said TRG plan's involve a level of risk but if successful
could spur Westside growth. "It will be pretty significant for that end of Pendleton,"
Randolph added. |
